Badge and Insignia
The Badge
Members of SAI can be recognized by our official badge. The badge has the seven gold Pipes of Pan encircled by a band of semi- crown set pearls, bearing the Greek letters “Sigma,” “Alpha,” “Iota” on black enamel.
The Crest
The Sigma Alpha Iota crest is pictured below. On our crest, the open motto of the fraternity can be read: "Vita Brevis, Ars Longa" (Life is short, but Art is long).
Other Symbols
SAI has several public symbols that are used to recognize us nationally. However, their meanings sacred and known only by members of the fraternity. These symbols include our colors (Red and White), our flower (Red Rose), and our official symbol (Pan Pipes).
